Why every flag gets exactly one reason

Three reasons is a shrug. One reason, with evidence, is something a controller can act on.

Early versions of Tessel listed every rule a suspicious line broke. Controllers told us the list made flags harder to act on, not easier.

One reason, the strongest

A flag now carries one reason: the rule that matters most for that line, in a sentence a controller would write. The other rules it broke are still in the evidence, one click away.

Evidence, not a score

We don’t show a risk score. A number between 0 and 100 invites a debate about the number. A reason and its documents invite a decision.
